Scientific Games awarded Kansas Lottery’s 10-year Systems Contract
Las Vegas-based lottery service and casino equipment provider Scientific Games Corporation (NASDAQ: SGMS), has been awarded a new 10-year contract by the Kansas Lottery for lottery gaming systems and related services. The Kansas Lottery may renew the contract for up to five years.
The full facility management services contract is structured in such a way as to maximize the issuer’s [Kansas Lottery] profits, driven by Scientific Games Corp’s advanced lottery system platform, marketing services and innovative products. July 2018 is slated as the systems implementation date. Since its formation on November 12, 1987, another major lottery supplier has provided the Kansas Lottery’s systems technology.
Executive Director for the Kansas Lottery, Terry Presta, said “Our new gaming system from Scientific Games aligns with the Kansas Lottery’s goals and vision for the future, which places more emphasis on advanced technology to enhance the Kansas Lottery’s overall performance. We selected Scientific Games as a technology business partner because we believe their technology solution can enhance our player insights, game innovation and retail operations, and ultimately help us maximize profits for our state beneficiaries in Kansas,” according to the press release.

At the present time, sales force management technology and instant games are supplied to the Kansas Lottery by Scientific Games via its 2017 acquisition of Lapis Software Associates.
